The total TV channels in Bangladesh is 30, 29 of which are private, with the most recent one, Nagorik TV, debuting in February 2018. Both satellite television stations in Bangladesh are Sangshad Television and Bangladesh Television (BTV).

In 1964, the government television station Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV) in Dhaka, then East Pakistan, aired the very first television signal in Bangladesh. Bangladesh Television (BTV) enjoyed a great deal of influence from then till the late 1990s. A handful of Bangladeshi TV channel have since launched. Several have also ceased down as a result of the situation.

Bangladesh Television

Bangladesh Television abbreviated BTV, is Bangladesh’s state-owned broadcast network. On the 25th of December 1964, Pakistani Television began airing in what was then East Pakistan. After liberation in 1971, it was called Bangladesh Television. In 1980, full-color programs became available. The cable network Seventeen relay stations broadcast to about 2 million television sets. Bangladesh Television stated on March 13, 2021, that six additional provincial channels would be established.

Channel 24

4 times per day, Channel 24 broadcasts two live interactive sports briefings dubbed Sports 24. Regional and worldwide sporting events, as well as news updates, special stories, analysis, and official reports, are the major focus of the nighttime update.

Each day has a part focused on one of Bangladesh’s seven divisions. Ekushey Television

Ekushey Television, named in reference to the 21st of February, is a Bangladeshi commercial terrestrial television station. It first started broadcasting on April 14, 2000, but was halted by the BNP-led parliament in 2002 after being charged with airing misleading media stories. On March 29, 2007, the station was reintroduced to the airwaves. Mohammed Saiful Alam of the S. Alam Group of Industries is the president of Ekushey Television.

Independent 24

Independent Television Ltd is a denationalized news station that broadcasts 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Beximco, one of Bangladesh’s major conglomerates, owns it. Their headquarters are in Dhaka’s Tejgaon neighborhood. In March of 2010, it received its formal authorization from the Bangladeshi government.

Bijoy

Bijoy TV (transl. Victory TV, in allusion to Victory Day) is a Bengali language television station broadcasting through satellite. Its facility is located in Dhaka’s Bangla motor. As of December 16, 2011, the network has been showing scheduled programming. On May 31, 2013, formal broadcasting commenced. ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury, the former mayor of Chittagong, founded this station. Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury, the present State Minister of Education, is a stakeholder and previous general manager of this station.
